The main attractions at Harrah's are its 35-table on-site casino (smaller than most in the area) and its huge heated outdoor pool and whirlpool hot tub, both of which are open year-round.The pool has plenty of lounge chairs and cabanas for guests, but it's right next to a highway, which some might find less than appealing. Bathrooms are contemporary but nothing special, with large mirrors and shower/tub combos or, in suites, walk-in showers and separate soaking tubs. Rollaway beds are also available in some units. All rooms come with safes, 49-inch flat-screen TVs, coffeemakers, and mini-fridges, and rooms that don't have microwaves can have them added in for a daily fee. Most come with either a king bed or two queens, and many have views out over the gulf.īoth smoking and non-smoking rooms are available and pets are allowed in some units. Suites have living rooms with leather-finish chairs and sofas in muted shades of grays and blue, and some have bar areas with high stools and granite countertops. They're all outfitted with two-toned purple-and-gray patterned carpets, a mix of dark-finish furniture with white bedding, and off-white walls with dark-wood trim and patterned wallpaper accent walls. Harrah's Gulf Coast offers a wide range of rooms and suites, all with a contemporary and attractive design, though a bit chain-like.

The WinStar Convention Center is unlike anything I have ever seen. We all got ready for the ceremony in the afternoon and headed over to the Convention Center. Heather treated us all to the Head, Hands & Feet treatment at The Spa at WinStar, and the groom and groomsmen played a round of golf, fresh off their lessons from the pros at the WinStar Golf Academy. The day of the wedding was nothing short of perfect. We were able to enjoy all of WinStar’s amenities – the pool, spa, restaurants and more – and be close to all the wedding activities. The convenience of everything being in the same place was a game changer for us. That evening, we all met up for the rehearsal dinner and drinks. While we shopped, the guys headed over to WinStar Golf Academy for GEARS 3D swing analysis. After a while, we realized Heather’s mom lost the bride’s earrings! (You can’t have a wedding without one major drama, right?) So all the girls headed to Le Fleur and found Heather the perfect earrings. By 2:30 p.m., we were all out at the pool and enjoying the beautiful weather. The wedding party arrived at WinStar and checked into the hotel on Friday afternoon. Talk about an awesome guy! I’d been looking forward to standing by Heather’s side as a bridesmaid for months and it did not disappoint! She was the calmest bride I have ever seen, and Danny was so helpful all weekend. I am a sucker for a good love story (not a surprise if you read about my obsession with “The Bachelorette”). Plus, the whole wedding weekend was at WinStar, so that meant another spa trip! This month has been especially sweet because one of my closest friends, Heather, got married to the man of her dreams. Wedding season is in full swing! I love this time of year because I get to celebrate with so many friends.
